Tesla producing 600 cars a week.

Tesla currently produces 600 Model S cars a week, though initial projections were about 400 a week. They would be making more but Panasonic cannot keep up with Tesla's demand for their batteries.

Elon Musk remains optimistic that the cell supply constraints which are limiting higher production will be solved by the middle of 2014, or in the second quarter.

The Tesla Motors manufacturing facility in Fremont, California has capacity to build 500,000 cars annually.

I think we are now seeing the return of the electric car - the industry is approaching the tipping point.
