UK EV sales continue their upward trajectory in the UK. The UK total car market is also booming.
March figures show the EV sales trend accelerating, driven by PHEVs up approximately 1000% YOY and YTD and BEVs up >100% YOY and YTD.
Combined that's +400% YOY.
So, March BEV sales were 1905 and PHEVs were 4209.
This means that the existing subsidy cap of 50,000 cars will be reached before the end of 2015. Current signals suggest that after then the grant will be biased in favour of BEVs due to their lower emissions.
