Nissan have confirmed that the 2014 Leaf (available in 2013) and the Infiniti will both feature wireless charging.
The system will use an electromagnetic induction unit that will charge at between 3kW and 6kW and will be 80% to 90% efficient.
Daimler and Conductix-Wampfler are also collaborating to test inductive charging using Mercedes-Benz B-Class E-Cell Plus.
It looks like the future may be wireless - but when will it be commercialised on a widespread basis?
